Funerals

The death of a loved one is a distressing, confusing and lonely time. Many people choose to have a service at St Mary’s Harrington and Holy Spirit Distington before, or after, a cremation or burial. We are happy to do a funeral for a loved one whether or not they were a regular member of the church.

We work with all our local funeral directors to ensure that the emotional, pastoral and practical needs of bereaved families are met in the lead up to the funeral and during the funeral itself.

After the Funeral

Following the funeral, we are also here to support you if you need us.

Each year on or around All Souls Day (2nd November) we hold a special service to remember all departed loved ones to which families are invited. Many find this service a great comfort.

What do I do next?

Your funeral director can arrange things with us. We will visit you at home to talk things through.
